Is it possible to install part of the list, or if I install all of them as per your video instructions, will my RESYNTHESIZE tool be overwritten, or maybe updated, or will it be ignored as being already installed. I already have the "HEAL" tool which is very useful. However, are all these plugins to do with RESYNTHESIZE, or are there others in the list I might find useful. I did download the plugins file Gimp_2.10.9_ So, it appears I do have it installed after all! So your mention of the word "MAP" in your video, prompted me to have a look, via FILTERS>MAP and what do I find right near the bottom of the list but, "RESYNTHESIZE" I had assumed, if RESYNTHESIZE was installed, I would find it under >script-fu or Filters>Enhance As my 2.10 Appimage (GIMP_AppImage-git-2.10.9-withplugins-20181227-x86_64.AppImage) download is fairly recent, I had not explored that option in the MENU. Right! I have watched your video (Thank you for it) and whilst watching it, the "Old Brain" spotted a glimmer of a possibility, due to your mention of the word "MAP" in your video. Fills with an irregular pattern from another image. (In the Edit menu, not the Filter menu.) Somewhat similar to Render>Texture. In other words, a seamless, irregular wallpaper (if the source image is smaller.) (You can also use Map>Resynthesize to create tiles, and then you can create a regular but seamless pattern.)Įdit>Fill with pattern seamless. Creates a new image having the texture from another image. transfer the 'style' of one image to another. The other plugins are simplified, special uses of this plugin. Here, you can experiment with other uses of the algorithm. Displays every control of the Resynthesizer engine. The hardest to understand, but the most powerful. Might restore more plausible detail than simple scaling up and using other sharpens. Enlarge (increase the resolution) and sharpen. A variant of sharpening that might give more plausible detail.Įnhance>Enlarge & sharpen. Not exactly the inverse of cropping, but almost: reconstructs what might have been cropped earlier.Įnhance>Sharpen by synthesis. Makes the canvas larger and heals the new transparent border. Like above, but you don't need to select anything, it heals every transparent pixel.Įnhance>Uncrop. Probably the most popular and useful.Įnhance>Heal transparency. Replaces the selection to look like its surroundings. GIMP Resynthesizer Plugin Suite wrote:Provides these menu items in the GIMP Filter menu:Įnhance>Heal selection.
GIMP RESYNTHESIZER PLUGIN WONT WORK ARCHIVE
Save the "Gimp_2.10.9_" file, open your file manager, select the archive file and copy, then show hidden files, browse into your "/.config/GIMP-AppImage/2.10/plug-ins/" folder and paste it, then right-click extract here, select all the files (ctrl+a), right-click -> properties, permissions tab make sure you have read and write access (view and modify) and check executable, apply ok, restart GImp.įYI: This would work for Linux Mint 19.x users as well using Gimp v2.10.9 installed from the "Synaptic Package Manager (SPM)" if the existing "resynthesizer" plugin did not have all the options just copy the archive into the normal Gimp user configuration folder (/.config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/) and extract it there, check permissions, restart Gimp).Īlso, for some reason today I could not download their newest Gimp AppImage file? I have attached an archive file with the "resynthesizer" and "Lensfun" plugins to this reply. I just noticed that my Gimp 2.10.9 AppImage with plugins did not seem to have all the "resynthesizer" options like Enhance -> Heal, etc.
